The King of the Road

Posted on June 11th, 2010 in Personal

We went out a bit late for the office last Monday, left home around 9AM. I was still doing my make up in the car and checking some  slide shows on my mobile when I heard the husband murmuring something. I looked at him and saw him looking at the side mirror. There was tricycle beside the car, trying to overtake but was stucked due to a couple more vehicles coming. Hubby checked and said it was still good but when he tried to go on driving – skeeetcchhh, it hit! Awww! He rushingly went out to check and saw scratches on 2 panels (wow!). I heard him arguing with the driver already so I went out to see. The driver was even telling us that we were the ones driving away and that he isn’t moving. But goodness, we were on the right lane! A policeman saw us and instructed me to take pictures – which I did, of course. After that, we were escorted to the police station.

I was so surprise to see the police station, it’s creepy! It’s a total mess – like what we used to see in Pinoy movies. I do not want to elaborate our whole police station experience but I will definitely wouldn’t want to go there EVER AGAIN! The worst thing that day? The driver didn’t want to pay for the whole damage. So, we offered to share the repair expenses and would you believe? The nerve had the guts to say – “Where will I get money?” when in fact, he was driving carelessly on the road. The total damage expenses would cost 9,500 since we haven’t renewed our insurance yet but he said he’ll pay 1,500 by the end of the month? And our licenses will be held at that station until he’s able to pay it? For Pete’s sake! I wouldn’t want to risk hubby going in there to get his license! I decided upfront that he’s 1,500 would no longer matter if it’ll be paid on month end while our license is in there – we just let him go. And he was jumping with joy when he heard it. He tried to shake our hands but we declined.

I guess we had to experience the thing before we knew it. In the road, the king are those drivers who are earning a little, without worrying if they’d be punished when caught or even gets to jail. I do not want to demean them but goodness – they knew for a fact that private vehicle owners are the ones aggravated in that kind of situation! We have our work waiting for us, we don’t have time to argue with them at the police station, we don’t have time to go to hearing and we’ll even need to pay for our lawyers if we wanted to file a case against them! Who would be so delighted to do so??? In the end, we are the loser!

Oh and by the way, for that accident and to be able to get our license back – we had to pay 500 pesos at the station! Goodness! Damage + 500 to get your license because you were hit – only in the Philippines!

Readers Gone

Posted on April 13th, 2009 in Domain And Hosting

After I migrated to a self-hosted WP blog, I left all my blogger readers and started everything from scratch (even the traffic). To be honest, I am having a real hard time to get back on track. I am not particularly disappointed but somehow, I feel like my blog isn’t complete.

As you can see, I only have 1 reader (subscribed) while I previously have 52 in blogger. I am not sure if I made a mess on the Feedburner but I think I did not. And with my internet connection all messed up (yes, thanks to this disgusting service from PLDT – every subscriber seems to be complaining about them), I can’t do some site changes for I will surely throw a temper on the frequent disconnection.

Anyway, as much as I would like to have a contest just like some of my friends, I don’t have enough resources to do so and with this post, I am appealing to you, my dear readers that if you were once a subscriber of this blog to kindly re-subscribe. Or if you are new to this site and would like to get updates, you may also do so.

To those who would also like to help me, of course, you are more than welcome. I will surely leave some love on your blogs.

Thank you in advance :)

Note: I am also working on the Google followers soon!

Adgitize Brings Traffic to Your Site

Posted on March 25th, 2009 in Blog And Money

My site has been running since Monday but I noticed that traffic is not coming in as being reported in Site Meter. There are a few visitors but some of my (relatively) regular visitors are no longer visible. Quite a dreamer for a newly established site, you would say.

Actually, I was thinking where my Adgitize visitors are and just today, I realized that I haven’t updated my advertisement information so the readers are still being redirected to my blogger account. I sent an email to Ken Brown and he told me what to do. The blog has been updated and approved in a few minutes.

Well honestly, it really brought traffic to my seemingly new site (way back in blogger). Most specially when I placed an advertisement. I was really surprised as to how it turned out in a matter of days. It is also a great way to earn extra – with it’s point system. And I’ve got 2 payments from them already. If you want to learn the details, check the Adgitize site and see for yourself.
