Pinoy Scrapbookers: Kaya 27 Challenge

Posted on July 25th, 2009 in Scrapbooking

I have been procrastinating in creating my entry for the Kaya 27 Challenge in Pinoy Scrapbookers. When I first saw the challenge details, I was glad that digital entries are accepted. But a few days later, I thought I wanted to have a traditional layout because the ladies in there have great layouts and I was inspired. I gathered my stash to check on what I have and I only have a few. I have several kits purchased from Studio Azul but then I don’t want to use it yet – I am reserving them for my album :)

And so, it is only now that I found time to enjoy my use of PC (hubby is in their Photography Club’s General Assembly). I can use the computer today, all by myself! First thing in the morning, I exported the raw image of the picture hubby took a couple of days ago and made a digital LO for this challenge. I browsed my digital kits but ended up using my favorite kit to date – Grandma’s Porch by Mad Scrapper Designs.

Oh, I remember I did not post about my Kaya 26 entry so I might as well take this opportunity to show it. Kaya 26 was a Pearl Challenge. We have to make a layout with pearls. This was actually my second layout. I was not in the picture on the first layout so I have to redo it. And voila – I made this!

Studio Azul: Scrap Buffet

Posted on July 21st, 2009 in Scrapbooking

At last, I was finally able to export the photos from the Scrap Buffet I attended last July 11. It was an event organized by Studio Azul in cooperation with Pinoy Scrapbookers.  This is actually my first time to attend such an event but I can say I went home with a smile on my face. I went early with Donna so we can avail of the free back massage and yeah, it was very relaxing.

There were I think 50 scrappers present. When I entered, I saw the buffet table filled with bowls of different embellishments, papers and cardstocks hung and a lot of several unfamiliar things to me. When I saw the scrappers getting their totes ready, I was like, whoaaahhh! Are these what they call tote? Yeah, I am new to traditional scrapbooking so most of the things, tools and gadgets I saw there seems to be awesome!

I finished 5 12X12 layouts and 1 8X8 that day but I can only post 4. I already gave 1 to my mother-in-law and the other 1 is…I just can’t post it :)

I would like to thank Tin, the PS Mods and all the friendly scrappers present that day. Thanks to my table mates for the inspiration – Karen, Cathy, Alby, Nel, Arlene. Thanks to Donna for bringing me to the event and to Jona – another new found friend :)

I was so excited after I have finally completed the download. It took a while to complete because of my internet connection. It gets intermittent every night…yeah…network traffic. But anyway, here are the lay outs I’ve created from it.

I had fun and I hope you won’t mind me posting a lot of lay outs. I don’t want to create a separate site for scrapping so since this is my diversion-from-the-serious-and-busy-life site, I will take this one! Yihaaaa! Hope you will still read my posts :)

Ciao!

P.S. Bingkee, if you are reading this, I can’t find your link on the Brigadeiro award you gave me. I want to post it :) Can you give me the link?
