2010 Goal: Complete Kids Album

Posted on March 9th, 2010 in Digital Scrapbooking

This has been a pending project since 2008 and this year, my goal is to complete the baby album of my little girls. I needed to check an Anilox roll the other day and got a chance to see an one-kit call by Juliya for her latest kit Tender Spring. It has a light pink and peach touch so  I didn’t mind at all and applied. I got a chance to work it.

Here are the 2 layouts I made using the kit.

I intend to add these layouts to the album I am creating. It has been quite a long time and I am very happy to have been given a chance to work with a beautiful kit. Juliya is a wonderful designer too. I love her CU products and I am planning on getting more of them soon.

I have made a couple more LOs using my own kits for this album and right now, I am working on a baby kit so I  will get to finish everything before mid year. I still owe my friend, Tess an album for Luigi’s birthday party. Oh, a lot of work to be done but there isn’t enough time. LOL! I wish I could work on all of these during weekdays but I have work – my real work. Still dreaming of the time when I can be called a SAHM. Will it ever happen?

Colds and Fever on Summer

Posted on March 5th, 2010 in Home And Well Being, Parenting

I was up early this morning to check my mail and continuing my quest on looking for the best acne home remedy when Scieszka woke up too and sat beside me. I noticed she is hot and wanted to cling on me so I gave in. She has fever and colds.

The girls would normally have fever during the rainy season and not on a summer so I was kind of asking what happened when we are at the office. I would always do that – but I would constantly get the same answer from those taking care of them while we’re out, NONE.  It hasn’t changed.

The husband is already raising his concerns, mostly about how the kids are being taken cared of, being fed, being spoiled, everything. And I can’t blame him. We are still struggling whether I should stay at home and personally take care of the kids but the fact that I have a better career than husband is getting in the way. And we can’t do it the other way around – I can’t just simply ask him to resign instead and take care of the girls. I still believe that mothers are the best caregivers for their children. Oh – this discussion is surfacing again and soon we will need to make a big decision. I just do hope next time – that decision will be a good one.

Really tough being a working mom, huh!

Nintendo Wii Babies

Posted on February 18th, 2010 in Family, Home and Shopping

I was never really a fan of video games and I never expect I’d soon be able to learn how to play it. In our household, the only gaming console freak is my husband (or so I thought). It was before the girls turned 3.

The little ladies started with our mobile phones. They loved the simple games from our mobiles and would always want to borrow it whenever we are at home. Later on, hubby introduced the PSP to them. They were able to easily adapt to it. They learned how to turn it on and off, choose the games and even play videos or music stored in it. Quite amazing because I never get to do that on the PSP myself. LOL!

Then came Nintendo DS at age 4. It has more friendly games for toddlers than the PSP. With each touch screen functionality, the girls easily loved it – particularly Cooking Mama. I must admit, this one got me into playing huh! But I have never played well like the kiddos. Scieszka would always scold me and tell me I am doing the wrong thing. She’s very keen to these games really. Later on, they started fighting over the DS. The daddy offered a solution. Not a bright one though.

He brought home a Nintendo Wii so the girls could play together. Isn’t it just a wonderful idea a dad could offer to her kids? Haha! I was very much against getting it at first but he was able to motivate me so there. Look at the girls when the wii came in to the house that day.

They are already enjoying it on the first day! I was amazed at how well kids could adapt to the technology nowadays. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, there would be four of us banging to use the computer LOL. This console is amazing too! It’s very interactive. I have actually tried playing tennis and Wii Fit and I think it’s one of the best weight loss programs you should try. It’s kinda tiring but sure you will sweat a lot just by playing inside the house. How’s that for an exercise?

Layouts to Share

I had to chance to work on 2 layouts using the pictures of the kids last December when they attended my sister’s wedding. I was trying to have the photo done with a little treatment but I guess I am not good at it yet. Nonetheless, what I have done was a little bit complementing the kit. Here they are:

I got worried about Elysia for a bit. She’s got thinner. I wonder if she has been eating right lately. You know kids and how they can be playful. Elysia is one of those who’d rather play than eat. She’ll normally be fond of eating Jollibee chickenjoy. I can’t even get her back to eat her veggies. I was thinking of changing their milk with an even better formula. I have already seen some that can boost the child’s nutrisystem but I am not very sure they will like it. Guess, I’d just try. They will be turning 5 this July and will already start schooling. Oh, they are very very excited to go to school. They are looking forward to it.

We opted to defer their schooling to this year because we wanted them to enjoy another year of just plain playing. Hubby thought that it was best for them and so I agreed. But this year, there is no turning back.

We’ll be going to some school next month to check the fees, the school itself and it’s facilities. I hope we’ll be able to find a good one that is not necessarily expensive. Are there still some that aren’t too expensive but have good teachers?

My Little Posers

Posted on February 9th, 2010 in On Family

I was surprised when I arrived home the other day, the kids are running in the street from my mom’s house – in gowns! Gosh, what happened to you little ladies?, I asked. They answered back, “I wanted to try the dress!” then hurried to their dad and said, “Dad, can you take my picture?” We laughed real hard! The little girls felt like they were real princesses and wanted to have souvenir shots! The husband gladly took photos of them and here are the results.

We’re happy at how it turned out. Just that the kids teeth are no longer intact LOL! All shots were taken inside our room. More photos will be posted at Home and Parenting tomorrow. :)
