Globe Wimax at Home

Posted on April 11th, 2010 in Home and Shopping

Finally, we managed to have a new internet connection at home. Have been really tired and helpless with the previous internet service provider and we opted to get a new one. This time, from another provider with an extended service plan.

Hubby decided to get the Globe WiMax. I have been into telco and IT for the longest time but this was the first time I learned about the technology. Wimax is Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. In short, wireless. The husband do not normally believe in wireless connections because of a lot of interference vulnerability. However, I was happy when he finally decided to get this one. It’s much faster than the previous connection we had. I can now upload my kits to the store FTP fast and worry free that I will be disconnected after a couple of minutes.

Currently, I am enjoying my internet connection. I just do hope that the connection will stay as is longer. The issue with most providers here in the Philippines is that, they sell quality services only for a period of time or they sell services that can no longer be accommodated by their systems. This often result to degraded services and unhappy customers. Technically speaking, they have no after sales customer service, they only want to get more customers.

We shall see. If you see me posting rants about this provider here, you already know what my problem is.
