Living a Stressful Life

Posted on February 15th, 2010 in Of Being Me

I am not complaining. I wanted to make it clear before I got into some misinterpretations. Life is really tough and this is the one thing that all of us could possibly agree. Rich or poor, there is always something  that will eventually stress us out. As for me, I can’t clearly identify.

I have always felt that I am very very tired. Not fed up, just plain tired. I am a person who don’t get to sleep so easily and whenever I close my eyes and fell asleep, it will always be like I am half-awake. Not a good sleep really and I think that’s what I need the most. I have always been against taking vitamins plainly because I just don’t like it but now, I think I need to have some vitamin supplement to keep me going. Besides, I am no longer young. I won’t be like I used to be anymore. I like to sleep more and rest more to gain energy for the next day because work and family will be waiting for me.

Life isn’t easy after all and each of us must do our responsibilities to survive and live the life we wanted to have.

My Little Posers

Posted on February 9th, 2010 in On Family

I was surprised when I arrived home the other day, the kids are running in the street from my mom’s house – in gowns! Gosh, what happened to you little ladies?, I asked. They answered back, “I wanted to try the dress!” then hurried to their dad and said, “Dad, can you take my picture?” We laughed real hard! The little girls felt like they were real princesses and wanted to have souvenir shots! The husband gladly took photos of them and here are the results.

We’re happy at how it turned out. Just that the kids teeth are no longer intact LOL! All shots were taken inside our room. More photos will be posted at Home and Parenting tomorrow. :)

Major Repair

Posted on January 30th, 2010 in Home and Shopping

Buying a house is difficult in itself. Living in it, caring for it and maintaining it is another story. Today, I had to check the entire house and see what needs to be repaired and replaced. It’s the time of the year again when you  need to have a maintenance check. And I wasn’t wrong. A lot of things are to be repaired – ackkk!

My most favorite place in the house – the restroom needs a new shower faucet. The old one is already damaged and we have not been using it  for months now. And it’s a good thing I saw some Kohler faucets on sale! I specifically got to like one but I thought I’d save it for our house renovation. I just hope that things go well this year for it to happen.

Not just the bathroom – our rooms, the garage, the kitchen – almost everything needs to be repaired and cleaned really well. The house we are living in now is built 15 years ago so it has an odd design and stuffs that are already worn out, damaged. But we are still happy to have it and since it’s ours now, all we have to do is take good care of it and eventually, improve it.

House remodeling will need to wait for a couple more months (oh i am hoping not years). But if you are to see the things I saw, I bet you’ll have the same decision as I had – have it all done once – big time!

Almost Over

Posted on January 24th, 2010 in Family

January is almost over. Another week and February will be here. And just when I am checking all the documents needed to be updated for the year, I forgot I will need to renew our car insurance. Just like last year, I will have to check for auto insurance quotes this year. I have to be careful reviewing each of the proposal I am going to receive. As you know, typhoon Ketsana brought trauma to all car owners last year too.I got the insurance a little late last year and this year, I wanted to get it on time. I don’t want to spend another 15K for damages again. It was a lesson we needed to learn.

This year will also mark the schooling of the kids and our budget needs to be tightened again. With all the increasing household expenses, tuition fees and school expenses must be put to priority too. We wanted to give our kids the best, however, we can’t afford yet to send them to exclusive and even more expensive schools so we’ll go for the nearest Christian school in our place. Aside from it is just a walking distance from our house, I won’t have to worry about getting a school service for the kids.

Guess I am not getting excited about January getting over. But then again, it is something I need to face. Yes, all the expenses are stressing me out already. It’s like this year will be my first financially stressful year. Wish me luck, friends.

House Repairs

Posted on January 16th, 2010 in Home and Shopping

We really do need one.

We’ve been living in this house since February 2006 and we’ve had a couple of minor repairs done already. Last 2008, we bought it – our very first house and we have a lot of plans for it. But then, we got a car, a unexpected great deal came to us and we decided to defer the house restructuring.

After new year when we had our general cleaning at home, I noticed a lot of repairs waiting already and because of it, I talked to hubby and told him we need to make our plans for restructuring early. I told him about the small details that needs to be repaired immediately. As you know, we are internet addicts and most of our purchases are done online so we looked and search for some minor repair items including industrial handles to replace our existing handles at home. It was not so hard to find the things you need online.

After these fixes, we are planning for a bigger one. We’ll surely have this house restructured.
