Every year, one of the top New Year’s resolutions of every woman and even some men is to be fit and healthy. But this resolution commonly fails because it doesn’t last till the year ends since laziness and motivation to do it fails after a month or two. No one can blame you if that was the case since your lifestyle interferes with one’s goal sometimes. Eating forbidden foods like too much sweets and carbohydrates is very hard to get rid if you are used to it. That is why, many people switch from exercising and dieting to taking pills and medicines that promise weight lose for a certain period of time. This fat burning items is easier to take, cheaper and will not consume your precious time if you went to the gym. But, looking for fat burners that really work is also hard, and besides, you don’t know if those medicines are safe and medically proven if you will not make a research for it thoroughly. You don’t want your liver to suffer if you take the wrong pills don’t you? It is better if you will ask for your doctor’s advice and recommendation before buying fat burning pills.

Stress is a silent killer as what others says since it can cause other health problems if not handled well. Stress always comes in everyday life, we experience it through physical and emotional ways and it can result through negative or positive feelings. Yes, stress can be a positive influence for us to be motivated and helps us to exceed our limitations. On the negative side, stress may result to depression, anger and worst it can affect our health leading to high blood pressure, migraines, headaches, ulcers, heart failure and visible skin diseases like acne. Acne marks are very shameful that may also add to your stress level, if you will not handle your stress well, even acne pills won’t get rid of the acne in skin fast.
There is no such thing as stress-free life, only we can decrease the amount of stress we experience in our life. It is important to have faith in God that he will not give you a problem if He knows you can’t solve it. Believing in yourself and being confident that you can manage all the crisis and trials that will come your way will help to combat stress. Keeping a healthy body as much as possible can also help to beat stress. Try breathing deep and slowly to calm the heart.

This week is incredibly tiring. My daughter have been admitted at the hospital on Sunday evening. She’s been having fever since Tuesday of last week and I don’t feel comfortable seeing her in that situation and doing nothing. We already rushed her to the hospital last Friday due to fever but we were sent home and said it was tonsilitis. However, it’s already Sunday and her fever is persistent so we brought her again that evening where she was admitted for observation.

Yesterday, several laboratory tests were done with her, including blood culture and throat swab. Results will finally be out tomorrow and we’re hoping for better news. This morning, she no longer has fever and we’re hoping it won’t recur in the afternoon. We both wanted to go home soon and get our much needed sleep. The little girl can rest well in the hospital but being the mom, I make sure she’s well attended to during her hours of sleep. And so the lack of sleep. I might need to use the best under eye cream for dark circles again eh. I wanted to get rid of these dark circles when I go back to work.

Hopefully, when the results are good tomorrow, we can go home. And I pray that her fever will finally subside. This child has been in pain for a week already and she missed going to school and have missed her exams too. We have a lot of things to recover when she’s ready again.

While doing a couple of researches about diet and a couple of weight loss dietary supplement, I stumble upon several news online about Manila and the recent dengue outbreak.

Weeks ago, Manila has been all over the international news with another incident which unfortunately I don’t want to discuss in my blog. These past couple of days, more news about Manila spread around but this time, it’s about the outbreak of the fearsome dengue fever. Hospitals were swamped with patients and though not everyone has dengue, fever caused paranoia to the public. Dengue is no ordinary fever and if not addressed earlier, could lead to fatality.

Children are the most common victims of the dengue mosquitoes and for most parents of children with fever, they would rather be paranoid than sorry. I, being one of them. My kids have had several episodes of fever since June and when it lasts for 3 days or more, it is a protocol to bring them to the hospital for further evaluation. We can’t be blamed for it. We are talking about children and as parents, it’s our responsibility to keep them safe…all the time. So go – call me paranoid.

Compression stockings are medical hosiery intended mainly to remedy impaired musculovenous pump performance brought about by leg vein valves that are not working as they should. Typically recommended by doctors for use of people who are prone to blood clots and blood pooling in the legs and feet due to extended periods of inactivity, these stockings are woven to provide the right level of compression on ankles to the top of the knee with lessened levels towards the hose’s top. These stockings are generally non-prescriptive although there are certain precautionary measures that have to be observed.

Caution is primarily directed on the correct fit as an improper fit can result to the obstruction of the patient’s arterial flow. The “firm” gradient type of compression
stockings should only be worn with corresponding medical advisement. Anti-embolism compression stockings are generally used to support the venous and lymphatic systems of the leg. The level of compression offered by the stockings can be determined by the number of mmHg. The higher the number of mmHg, the higher the level of compression offered.

The stockings are indicated for use in several conditions including edema, varicose veins and lymphedema. Lymphedema is a condition where localized fluid retention and tissue swelling is present because of an affected lymphatic system. Compression stockings are made from rubber or elastic fibers.
