I don’t know about you, but I’m big on dolls. Baby dolls, Barbie dolls, stuffed dolls, even life-sized dolls! There are just so many pretty toy dolls and this blog post is titled “Dolls Are Forever” simply because I think girls can never outgrow their dolls. And you know that dolls are here forever because even in these modern times, they just keep on innovating.

The young girls now can enjoy the likes of Baby Alive, porcelain dolls, collectible reborn baby dolls, Monster High, and a lot of other toy dolls that you can think of. Dolls now are very high-tech too. They walk, talk, dance, sing and even eat and poo! It’s just so amazing how all of these toys are now available for today’s young girls and even mothers like me enjoy seeing them. And there’s so much you can stuff you can buy to create a play world for your little girl such as houses, cars, even pets! So you see, dolls aren’t boring as they used to be. They’re not just for display these days. They’re fun, and interactive. How about you? What are your daughters’ favorite toys?

We take a look at spots to get luxury for less with On The Beach

The Baltics are a region with a growing popularity with European tourists. It ahs long been a popular haunt for cruises, as the Baltic Sea provides an excellent link between Western European ports and the Baltic region, which includes parts of Finland as well as Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and the Western edges of Russia.

Travellers thinking up holidays for this summer and beyond are attracted to the Baltics for several reasons. In the main these are: the small size and easy communication between the countries in the regions; its curious history of empire and independence (it was a region much-disputed amongst the Swedish Kingdom and Russian Empire in the late 17th and 18th centuries); and its beautiful landscapes and coast.

Indeed, waterways are still one of the most favourable ways to explore the area, and access between Finland and Tallinn, the capital of Estonia and also considered a Baltic state, is easy by a ferry which takes around an hour. Travellers can therefore enter the Baltic region and make their way to St Petersburg through Finalnd – saving hundreds of pounds on organized tours or cruises.

Ferries and short-haul flights to Helsinki or Tampere are available through budget airlines like RyanAir for those short of cash; otherwise the over-sea option is an excellent one. Many cruise liners will offer discounts just before setting sail – so if you can keep an eye out for special discounts and offers on particular Baltic tour packages, you could find yourself with a bargain.

Another way to amp up the luxury but save money can be to mix up your accommodation. In imperial heartlands like St Petersburg, you are more likely to find yourself in a hotel and basking in the history.

However, stunning seaside spots like Riga are best visited through homestays, of which there are many – often more popular, and enjoyable, than hotels and hostels. These will allow you to get a taste of local culture and cuisine, and have the loveliest holiday luxury of all – time, without tour schedules and cruise ship horns!

If, like hundreds of thousands of UK tourists, you’re considering a holiday in Spain this summer, don’t forget the possibility of combining an On The Beach city break or resort stay with one of the country’s best kept secrets: the Picos de Europa, a mountain range which runs from the French border all along the north-west coast towards Galicia.

Domestic adventure, walking and outdoor activity holidays have had a busy, if variable, past few years with UK tourists – and whilst the UK activity industry is currently enjoying increased interest with new trends like glamping and eco farms contributing to the rise, it is expected that overseas holidays are likely to catch up very quickly.

With that foresight in mind, we’ve highlighted three invigorating mountain destinations for an active, restful and environmentally-friendly summer holiday.

1. Picos de Europa, Spain

The picos are a haven for walkers and food lovers, running along the northern coast of Spain and spanning the regions of Asturias, Cantabria and Castile y Leon. Cantabria is home to some extremely deep (and sometimes wet) cave systems – caves have been discovered over 1000m deep – so this is also a good spot for potholing and caving. Others prefer the medieval feel of it all; accommodation in huts, camping or simple guesthouses, the local blue cheeses and rambling amongst shepherds as much as holiday makers. Extremely well-protected, this is an excellent place to get away from it all, and experience rural Spanish culture in a region far, far away from the busy resorts of the Costa del Sol and Costa Brava.

2. Appenzell Alps, Switzerland

The Alps are certainly top amongst the famous mountain destinations in Europe, and require little introduction, not least amongst the skiers reading; and the Swiss Alps are amongst the most celebrated. But it’s seeing this region during summer that can often be the most breathtaking – and energizing, with lakes like Sealpsee and Fallensee to be enjoyed and splashed about in. We’d recommend driving and camping for the full experience.

3. Carpathian Mountains, Central and Eastern Europe

The Carpathian Mountains stretch far across eastern Europe, forming an arc from the Czech Republic all the way to Serbia. The best trekking is found in the Tatra mountains in the south of Poland. Taking the quiet mountain city of Zakopane as your base, aim for the towering heigh of Mount Rysy – the region’s highest peak – for a challenge. The higher areas can be quite shingly, but the view- crisp blue lakes below jutting peaks chomping at the bright sky like bared teeth – is amazing!

casinos or go online investing time and money and treat it as a “business”. I do know a few people who even go to bingo halls EVERY day like it’s their job. I have observed that in the small bingo hall in the mall near our home, where mostly middle-aged women around 40-60 spend the whole day from the time the bingo halls open until it closes. You can also observe that they know almost everyone else who comes in and out, even the bingo sales agents who walk around the halls selling the playing cards and what-not.

In my opinion, I think it’s a great way to spend the time, but I also think that going to the bingo halls everyday can be time-consuming, and can affect the budget, especially since one cannot expect to win every single day. Having said this, it is good that bingo or casino game lovers can now play their games using their computer. With the number of sites that offer online bingo games and other casino games, it is very convenient to have that option. No need to leave the house to enjoy a good game of bingo or blackjack. No need to spend money on fare (especially with the fare hikes lately!). No need to brave the heat or endure the rains just to be able to play your favorite games. AND, there are sites that actually let you play for free, without having to shell out money just for an hour or so of fun. Now isn’t that just convenient? What do you think about online games? Have you tried playing them?

Having a baby includes a lot of untold difficulties and chores that many of us never realize until we are faced with them. One of the most troublesome and difficult chores is changing time. Here is a list of the necessities that changing time calls for.

It’s not fun to think about but changing tie can get messy. I suggest getting a pack of sanitary liners that you can lay out on your baby changing station and dispose of when you are done. You can get these in bulk packs from vendors such as www.simplybabychangingstations.com. This makes clean up a lot easier and avoid contamination of any pretty blankets you are using to pretty up your baby changing station.

On that note, I really suggest baby changing stations for any new parents. They may seem like a frivolous expense, but regulating changing time to one specific spot will also help to avoid contamination.

Hand sanitizer is not for use on a baby’s sensitive skin, but it is a great thing to have around for cleaning up your hands after the task is done. You will also want to couple the use of hand sanitizer with a good moisturizer to avoid cracked and dried out skin. I suggest a lotion without any scents or other irritants which uses aloe vera as an ingredient. You don’t want anything on your hands that could irritate your baby’s skin.

Lastly, a good surface sanitizer is necessary for cleaning those baby changing stations. You can use a weak bleach solution, but it’s better to get a food grade sanitizer that is safe for your little ones. Babies love to put things in their mouths and food grade sanitizer makes sure that they can do so safely. This is also great for sanitizing pacifiers and toys that have come in contact with the ground.
