Strobist: Joan

As promised, here is the second model shots from the strobist class that hubby attended last December. I actually forgot to post these pictures already. Luckily, while I was searching for some files about insurance quotes I saw these pictures again and it came to mind that I haven’t posted about the second part yet. I think these shots were taken at the instructor’s place in Makati. While the first part was shot inside the studio, this part was taken at the rooftop (or so I think).

I was wondering how tiring it is during a model shoot. With a lot of photographer students trying to take shots of a model, it may be kind of difficult to get all the shots you want. Aside from the fact that others have better equipments than the rest. Maybe it’s part of what he should learn too?

He’s so looking forward to another strobist class. I don’t know why but he’s so fond at taking portrait shots. Unlike me who wants to simply just capture the moment, he wants everything directed, planned and perfectly captured. Oh well, he’s still on the learning process so I can’t just simply think he’ll be like that forever. Things can change and who knows, he’ll be better even before I knew it.

Strobist Class: Michelle

I forgot to post this one immediately the following day after hubby went on with his first strobist class sponsored by Aperturista. I know nothing about the details of the class or either the things inside photography but I really really love looking at the pictures afterwards. Here are some of them.

Model: Michelle

She’s beautiful isn’t she? I was told that Michelle is a Brazilian and a model herself. I think this has been a great chance for hubby to get some real models for a photoshoot. I’ll post more next time with another model.

8th Philippine Toy Convention

I almost forgot to blog about this. As you know, my husband and I have been hooked into watching Japanese series and animes. And as such, he is also a gundam kit builder (i don’t know if this is the correct term). So he is pretty much on radar when it comes to Toy Convention and Costume Plays or cosplay as it is called by the Japanese (due to their limit on the use of syllables for certain terms).

Anyway, here in the Philippines, I have seen several of these and even accompanied hubby to one last year. We don’t have a decent camera back then so the pictures are stored somewhere I can’t already remember. Last June, the 8th Toy Convention was held at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall. Hubby went with friends from college and there he got the chance to take pictures of some cosplayers who participated in the event. Here they are:

Family’s Day Out con Photo Shoot

Hubby just recently joined a photography club since he wants to sharpen his skills and learn the art behind photography. When he bought the camera a couple of months ago, he was just practicing by himself and couldn’t get some good shots(well, at least for someone who owns a Canon 1000D). He, himself was not satisfied with his shots and he knew he need to learn..from others and from experience. So there, we set off to Paco Park to join the Aperturista Photo Shoot today.

I am not so familiar with the theme they set up for this shooting gig but I think it was called Gothic (really, I am not so sure). But take a look at his shots! I was quite surprised! Well, I did the editing for now so please bear with it… ^_^ I am not so good about picture editing yet.

Of course, the family pictures will not be totally left out. He took pictures of the kids (and me!) and these are the results. I hope he’ll pursue this hobby. I like pictures…so I can scrap! And believe me, I am going to download and buy scrap kits so I can make some out of these pictures.

That comprised our park adventure for today. The kids enjoyed playing around and they were very happy. Another family bonding ^_^
