Time out for mom

I haven’t counted the days, or weeks, or months. I can hardly remember the last time I went out on a date with my girl friends. It seems like ages since I last saw my closest buds.

I guess, that accounts for my crankiness these days. I feel like I’m a prisoner here at home, slaving away on my online work while juggling household chores. I feel I should get out more, to take a breather from the humdrum of my daily existence. Sure, my husband and kids inspire me, but it would be nice and healthy if I got away from it all, even for just a few hours each week.

All work and no play makes anyone dull. That includes us work-at-home moms. We deserve a hard-earned day off too. We don’t really have to spend a fortune to have a good time. A simple afternoon get together over cake and coffee with the girls would be more than enough to rejuvenate our tired spirits. If you find yourself in the same predicament as I am, go out there and schedule a quick getaway with your friends. Your family will ultimately benefit from the better mood you’ll be in.

How To Get Your Friends To Stop Borrowing Your Things

Friendship is such a wonderful thing. It’s truly a blessing to find someone whom you can connect with and share fun times with. But sometimes, the sharing turns to abuse, when you find that your close friend is starting to get too comfortable borrowing stuff from you. Sometimes, you feel that you should start installing POS systems in your closet, just so you can keep track of the clothes and shoes she keeps borrowing from you. How do you handle a friend who seems to find it a pleasurable hobby to borrow your stuff?
You can choose to just grin and bear it, but when you find that she is crossing the line, then you should definitely do something about it. This might seem easier said than done, so if you are uncomfortable with confronting her, you can opt to just tell a lie. If for instance, she wants to borrow your DSLR, you can just tell her that it’s not working. You can continue making up excuses for other things she may want from you, and eventually, she’ll get the hint.
If, on the other hand, you are bold enough to tell her the truth, then do so. If she throws a fit and stops talking to you, then maybe she wasn’t a true friend to begin with. Because if she were a real friend, she would’ve understood.

Banner for Yz

While I was online and waiting for an eczema treatment spam comment to be deleted in my wordpress account, I played around a bit with a logo that Fedhz asked me. This was for Yz and I know Fedhz is preparing something new so I would like to help her a bit. I made this badge for her using my new kit “The Sweet Life” which was released today at Scrapable.

I just hope she will like it. It is quite simple and I followed the instructions given by Fedhz with a little modification. Anyway, if you are interested on what were the items I used in this banner, come and check my latest release at Scrapable. I call this kit, The Sweet Life

The palette was quite girly but I did not want to concentrate on girls alone since it has some blue, green and brown so I made it into something more colorful and sweet, thus the title. I added a couple of girly and some elements that might come in handy for boys layout. I wanted it to be a little versatile despite the colors and I was glad it came out like this. I love it

Happy Birthday, Seiko!

Am I late again? Not really sure but I wanted to greet of the marce, a very Happy Birthday! Seiko, I hope you had a wonderful celebration with your family. I am not really familiar as to how birthdays are celebrated in Japan but I know for a fact that Japanese do care a lot for their loved ones on their birthday.

Seiko is one of my “kumare” with Sati. I haven’t personally met her but chatting with her online, emails and social connections – I have known her to be a loving mom to her kids. A Pinay, married to a Japanese with wonderful children. I knew her family loved her so much. You can just take a peek at her blog and see. She’s still sexy despite having children. Hey dear, do you have the best fat burner in town?

I am really glad our gift was able to reach her. It wasn’t something really expensive but all our thoughts are there – collectively .

Hey – I think I might have missed some greetings! I apologize if I wasn’t able to post some of the greeting cards to the Marce – you know how toxic my corporate life is. End of April up to early May was really a headache and I hope to be able to catch up to my regular work this week. Election is over and hopefully, there’d be some peace.
