Readers Gone

After I migrated to a self-hosted WP blog, I left all my blogger readers and started everything from scratch (even the traffic). To be honest, I am having a real hard time to get back on track. I am not particularly disappointed but somehow, I feel like my blog isn’t complete.

As you can see, I only have 1 reader (subscribed) while I previously have 52 in blogger. I am not sure if I made a mess on the Feedburner but I think I did not. And with my internet connection all messed up (yes, thanks to this disgusting service from PLDT – every subscriber seems to be complaining about them), I can’t do some site changes for I will surely throw a temper on the frequent disconnection.

Anyway, as much as I would like to have a contest just like some of my friends, I don’t have enough resources to do so and with this post, I am appealing to you, my dear readers that if you were once a subscriber of this blog to kindly re-subscribe. Or if you are new to this site and would like to get updates, you may also do so.

To those who would also like to help me, of course, you are more than welcome. I will surely leave some love on your blogs.

Complete Make-Over

I thought it was just simple. But NO! I had a couple of ordeals to handle after I have chosen to transfer from Blogger to WordPress platform. I made a mess with the sidebars that prompted me to change the theme. I loved my previous theme but it seems I can’t make Adsense to work with it, and so are the other links which can’t be clicked after the migration. I don’t know what happened but according to Eric, it was just a bad script. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to figure it out.

So, I am here, with my new template from SimplyWP. A beautiful scrapbooking theme which is just right for my scrapbooking layouts. A total make-over for Blog Appetite!

Successful Migration

I actually had a tough day today. Earlier today, I made several changes to Home and Parenting blog which eventually, lead me to decide and move my blogger account to WordPress. So the story started.

I initially worked on the new domain and was confident enough that I will be able to finish it in a matter of 2 or 3 hours. I was right! My admin this morning was very helpful enough to look over my concerns. I actually did not do anything on the cpanel – yes, they did everything for me because I don’t have patience in dealing with the technicalities – I was working from home today and is also monitoring a couple of activities so I cannot fully dedicate my time to it.

To continue, as I’ve said, I decided to move this blog from blogger to WordPress which I thought would also be easier. Unfortunately, when I was playing around the cpanel way back in November, I installed a couple of software and therefore, the admin cannot install WordPress. He told me that we have to delete everything if I want to proceed. We need to redo Blog Appetite which I agree. When WordPress was successfully installed, I just realized that my posts were not migrated – Oh my God! I was like – “Do I need to redo everything?”

Luckily, there are a couple of tutorials I’ve found on the internet but this one from Tech Corner was just perfect! I didn’t even know that there is a plugin to migrate your blogger to WordPress and it was very easy. The widgets were not include though, but who cares? The hardes things to migrate in a blog are the posts and the comments. Right now, Blog Appetite is already up and running again – now powered by WordPress and hosted by Web Hosting Pad

I specifically would like to thank my admins who helped me throughout the day – Mabin and Amal of Web Hosting Pad. They really did their best to help me out and they were very very kind to me. Quite the best customer service for me! I hope they can read this so they will know how grateful I am for their help.

My Own Domain

Alas! I am now configuring my blogger to redirect to my domain www.blogappetite.com, gosh I hope it works! I’ve got my hosting services from Web Hosting Pad

Well, as I’ve said before I bought the hosting service for 2 years and it has been unused for 6months already so I paid for something I am not using. What a waste of money. This is the reason why I decided to try it myself…

Sorry! I can’t help but edit the post – just right after editing the blogger settings….see? It worked! Gosh, it took me a while!

Guess, I need to update my profiles, eh! *wink wink*

InfoCreek Web Designs

I’ve been looking for a perfect web design for my blog. It has been a couple of days already – trying on new templates and redesigning my widgets – yes, they are always being deleted every time I try to upload a new template.

Yesterday, I came across this page and the designs are absolutely awesome! InfoCreek have several designs available for WordPress or Blogger page. Check it out and see what’s best for your site.

As for me, I tried the Notepad Blogger Version and as you can see, my site has a whole new look! I’m satisfied with it right now – yosha! Just that, it took me a lot of effort to get all the widgets run together but it was well worth it.

I am already thinking of getting this page to my hosting service. Yes, it has been a couple of weeks now but I still can’t use it. There are even times when I regret getting it that early but I don’t want to think about it already – what is done is done.

But anyway, for now, I’ll be enjoying my site =)
