A New Day at Daybreak

Posted on June 26th, 2011 in Uncategorized

Whenever you hear the work “daybreak”, you are always reminded of the promise of a new day. Everything new and fresh comes to mind. Daybreak in Utah lives up to its name by providing a deserving family with a roof above their heads, through the help of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The Daybreak community in Utah has been included in the list of communities to be featured in this popular TV series. This time, Rio Tinto, the developers of Daybreak works together with the construction team of Holmes Homes to build a house, from the ground up, for a family in need. They are going to finish the home in a week.

The lucky beneficiary of a new home in Daybreak will be the family of Jonah Gomez, a 7-year old boy with two rare blood disorders. Currently, he and his family live with relatives in Taylorsville, Utah.

With the New Home community in Daybreak, there’s nothing more the Gomez family could ask for. More than having a new home modeled after their lifestyle, everything they’ll ever need is a mere stone’s throw away. Since the business establishments in Daybreak are within a few steps of each other, mom can drop off the kids to school, and then dash off to the bank and make a quick stop at the nearby Laundromat. Things couldn’t be more convenient for them as Daybreak’s TRAX light rail service gives the family direct access to the hospital where Jonah is being treated.

Construction of the Gomez’ abode began on June 23rd. and the Daybreak episode on Extreme Makeover airs this fall. Keep your eyes peeled and be there as the dawn of a new day unfolds for this family.
