How to ease work-related body pains

Posted on March 28th, 2011 in Others

It’s not at all uncommon that you find your officemate complaining about back or shoulder pains (other than the occasional gripes about your boss).  Sometimes, you feel she could use a shoulder stabilizer along with that tall cup of latte to help ease some of the pain.  The problem with your boss, you can’t do anything about, but with work-related body aches and pains, there are things you could do to help alleviate these:

  • Check your chair- make sure it fits your spine comfortably, so it doesn’t put too much strain on your back.
  • If your work entails you to stand all day, try moving around often, to decrease pressure on your spine.
  • Make sure you are not hunched over your computer for long periods of time. Occasionally get up, stretch a bit.
  • If your boss gives you the doubtful eye as you do some of these quick exercises at work, assure her you’re merely taking a break from working hard, and you are not “hardly working”.
