Just Another ER Experience

Posted on August 17th, 2009 in Personal

Oh you bet I had another one!

Sorry I wasn’t able to take pictures because it was an emergency – lol! And as if I could still take pictures.

Alright, this will be short, I didn’t eat breakfast that day. Then, I ate lunch and had a coffee afterwards so I would stay awake. After a couple of minutes, I can feel a burning sensation in my stomach. I feel bloated and it hurts badly. I went to the clinic but they can only give me a low-dose antacid which had no effect. Then I decided to go to the ER – yes, all by myself! I always do!

I went in, went to the triage for initial evaluation and they decided my case is urgent. Of course, I’m in pain! I was in the urgent area and a doctor checked me. After a couple of minutes, another doctor checked me. They he gave orders – medicines, lab exams, etc. I was waiting for almost 30 minutes already and I….am….in…pain. A lady from the laboratory came in to get blood samples. She was asking for my name but since I have been waiting for so long, I yelled at her and I felt guilty after that. Who won’t yell? I am suffering and I am still waiting?

Anyway, the nurse came in when she heard me yelled and gave me my meds – oh she has it for Pete’s sake! It has to be given in an IV. And what came next? She inserted the heplock (not sure if it’s the correct term) and she injected the medicine but I felt something boiling inside my hand muscles and then I saw her taking off the rubber which she used to control the blood flow so she could get a good vein! OMG!!! What was she doing???

It’s been 6days after the incident – I promised I will blog about it when the “souvenir” is gone.

Just another ER Experience!

  11. thats true even a piece of banana or a piece of toast will help the acid settle down to your tummy not to be aggitated and irritate the stomach…… kaya eat kahit a crackersjust to fill your tummy
