What’s Keeping Me Busy?

Posted on June 8th, 2009 in Working Mom

WORK – 50%

Kids – 30%

Blogging – 10%

Scrapping – 10%

But I am having 100% fun and I am 100% fulfilled!

You may ask why I have most time for work. Primarily, I am the lone support of more than 300 resources in 2 countries. I am on-call 24X7 and I can even be required to get up from sleep in times of issues (trouble is our term, technically). That doesn’t mean I prioritize work over my children. Just that, I am demanded to work more even at home and I am happy to have my work. :)

I just feel…. blessed!

Others are complaining about work. How tiresome it is and how difficult it is. But I guess, I just came to realize its importance early this January. It was my wake up call. Several years have passed and I work not knowing what it is really for? I thought I always had my mom to help me should I have financial issues. I kept looking for answers and I found none. This year, God gave me the answer. When the economic crisis hit the globe and affected a lot of people, I saw thousands of employees lost their jobs. My mom’s business was even affected. Others are looking for ways to keep their jobs but still aren’t fortunate enough to keep it. And there was I, still looking for answers? When I saw my co-employees packing things and preparing to leave the office with their gloomy faces, I knew my work was important. And I knew I was important, because I am still here. And from then on, I learned to love my job and I learned to value the things that I have.

How about you, are you happy with your work too? Or are you still complaining about your work?

  1. It is really important to be grateful for whatever we have because others desire what we have. A lot of people complain about their work never knowing how much others would do anything just to have their jobs.
    That is why we need to always be grateful for every little or mundane thing we have and not worry because others’ problems are bigger than our own.

  2. very well said, bingkee :)

    that is what i have learned

  3. First of all, Congratz Mye for your newly revamped theme. It’s really nice!

    Wow you’re so busy, well anyways the most important part is that you’re happy with what you are doing.

    Hmm..if it’s me:

    Work = 50%
    Blog = 30%
    Personal = 20%

    I’m still coping and adjusting as I am venturing to new businesses. Feeling quite lonely most of the time :(

  5. that’s a very inspiring post there mommy mye, because me here, I’m starting to feel really burnout from my job. Actually, it’s not the job that I hate, but the idea that nothing new is happening. no challenge na, in other words. but I’m still thankful that I have a job. Though medyo nahihirapan coz I’m almost 21weeks pregnant, ok lang, go pa rin, since para din sa family ko ito..

  6. agree with you mye. i wish i’ve more time blogging and venture into ebiz.

  9. wow, te mye! in demand ka pala. hehe! I am also sometimes thinking if I’m happy with what I do. I used to be an outgoing person and having a kid made me domesticated and homebody. sometimes it made me think if I will be better being a work at home mommy or working in the office.

    Every is a blessing because we are always together, although it’s crazy working at home with a little rascal bugging you esp if you have a deadline. but i wouldn’t trade it for anything. my dad had to work abroad and I only get to be with him for 30 days after being away for a year.

    thanks! happy for you!
